Njattadi
Traditional Paddy. Wholesome Food. Farmer-Owned.
A farmer-owned collective from Wayanad, Kerala cultivating Indian classic and semi-wild rice using the traditional Njattadi method.
OUR ROOTS. OUR WAY.
Our farming begins by listening to the land. At the forest–farmland edge of Wayanad, we cultivate rice in harmony with soil, water, and biodiversity. By following nature-aligned practices, we allow traditional rice varieties to grow resiliently, without forcing the land beyond its limits.

Nature First
Tradition That Endures
We follow the age-old 'chittunda' (pellet seeding) method, a cultivation practice refined through generations of farmers. This approach protects seed purity, supports semi-wild rice varieties, and preserves the cultural knowledge that connects food, people, and place.
WHAT WE DO
From seed to harvest, guided by nature and care.
Community Farming
For those who cannot engage in farming directly, we cultivate rice on their behalf through our community farming model—offering full traceability from seed to harvest and a direct connection to their food.
Indigenous Rice Cultivation
We cultivate indigenous Indian rice varieties using natural farming practices, ensuring that consumers receive wholesome, nutrient-rich food grown in harmony with soil, water, and biodiversity.

We develop rice and rice-based products through careful, minimal processing that prioritises quality and retains natural nutrition.
Seed Preservation

Quality-Focused Rice Products
We conserve and protect indigenous and traditional rice seeds, safeguarding genetic diversity and strengthening the resilience of native rice varieties.
COMMUNITY FARMING
Community farming allows you to participate in rice cultivation even if you cannot farm directly. Through 'Ente Krishiyidam' project, farmers grow indigenous rice on your behalf using natural methods, with full traceability from seed to harvest—connecting you to your food and the people who grow it.
